Anvil's area comprises two different locations. For newbies level 7 and below, there is an large region called Beginner's World, composed of more than 120 rooms, and which is surprisingly and welcomingly complex for an area designed with new players in mind. Beginner's World boasts multiple sources of healing, a treasure hunt, three very special fountains, and lots of tiny- to medium-sized baddies to slay. For more experienced players, the town of Hammersmith awaits, as well as a quest.

Finding Anvil's Area

From the village green, go 3W to a clearing, and then 3S. From here you can enter Beginner's World to the W, or go S toward Hammersmith.

Tips & Tricks

  • Anvil's area is home to 5 puzzles, as well as one quest: Catch the Horse.
  • Be sure to pick up a map when you arrive in Beginner's World for the first time.
  • Intrepid explorers may find three hidden fountains in Beginner's World. Drinking water from these fountains rewards bonus experience, gc, and equipment. Remember to drink only once.
  • The ranger in Beginner's World knows of buried treasure.
  • Clever newbies may utilize a beach ball to reach otherwise inaccessible parts of Beginner's World.

Healing

Healing in Beginner's World

  • The Stonepub serves beer free to players up to level 3. Higher levels pay just 2gc. What a deal!
  • In the northeastern corner of Beginner's World is the Temple of Pell, where players may sacrifice worthy items to receive minor healing.
  • The game-keeper's hut next door to the temple not only has facilities for you to fry up your own kills, but there is often some free food there for the taking.
